As a boy my father would sit and watch the elders as they carved. With studious attention he soon learned the skills nessary to carve his own works. When my father moved to Massachusetts his art work became a hot item with collectors and museums and are globally distributed. My father would sell his works to help suplement the family income. There are several publications featureing my fathers work one of which was created by Joan Lester for the Childrens Museum of Boston "We'er still here". Upon my fathers return to Maine he was elected to the Passamaquoddy Tribal Council at Pleasant Point and created the totem poles that greet you when you enter the tribal office building. My father also created the current tribal seal.< back to carvings >
